Several pictures I just received from Dahoowa.

In 1995, Wannemacher got a hold of me through AOL.  He just out of the blue sent me a message that said is that the AXE from Taiwan.  Well it had been over 20 years since I had seen or heard from him.  After getting the message and exchanging a few more emails we got a hold of each other on the phone and laughed our asses off for the next 2 hours, telling stories and such.  Anyway I could not believe that we had lost touch and the more I thought about it the more I had to see him in person.  So I called him up, got his address in Florida and away I drove 900 miles.

Once I got there and met him and his wife Karen they treated me like family.  Had a great time and even played some golf.  This first picture I believe is the evening of the 1st and LAST time I beat Dave at golf in the good old U S of A.  We played in Taiwan with girl caddies once, but he hadn't played much and I used to play all the time.   Dave has gotten a lot better since the time on the rock.

Well just so happens that Dave and two of his USS Ranger buddies get together ever year or so and the next year 1996 they got together in Ann Arbor Michigan.  Dave, his buddy John and Willie have been doing this since the service.  Anyway I joined them in 96 at Willie's home in Michigan for a long weekend of drinking and playing golf.   Here is a picture that Dave took of me after much of both of these vices.

On this same trip, we got a hold of Mick McCarron.  He lives outside of Detroit and one evening we drove to Willie's Mom's home for a great home cooked meal.  Mick showed up and we had a great time catching up on things.  Back in Taiwan Mick, Dave and I had an apartment in Taipei.  Illegally of course.  Here is a picture of the old roommates over 25 years later.
